MONASH PERFORMING ARTS CENTRES (MPAC)

Monash University Performing Arts Centres (MPAC) is the public performing arts and cultural arm of Monash University, presenting world-class performing arts experiences across music, dance and cultural programming. Each year, MPAC features contemporary and classical performances, iconic tributes, immersive festivals and community-focused events, including Family Fiesta, Big Jazz Day Out and Live at The Count’s, alongside an exciting slate of new works. MPAC is a vibrant hub for creativity, connection and cultural celebration for all ages in Melbourne’s south-east community.

In 2026, MPAC presented Kindred People, a powerful new Indigenous-led festival weaving together global First Nations arts, culture and knowledge from 1 to 5 September. The year also featured a rich program of performances, including Lighting The Dark from Dancenorth, Za Górami and Affinity Quartet, with Nai Palm as artist in residence.

MPAC is home to five venues across the Monash University Clayton and Peninsula campuses: the 561-seat Alexander Theatre, the 130-seat David Li Sound Gallery, the 150-seat jazz club The Count’s (with weekly gigs, a restaurant and a bar), the 1,598-seat Robert Blackwood Hall and the 426-seat George Jenkins Theatre.
