DAREBIN ARTS SPEAKEASY 

Darebin Arts Speakeasy Presentations is the City of Darebin’s award-winning, year-round performance program, showcasing high-quality independent works across theatre, dance, circus and live art. Since 2023, Zilla & Brook has managed publicity for the program, working with independent artists and small companies supported by Darebin and giving them a stepping stone to develop their craft and build audiences.

The 2026 Speakeasy season featured seven works:

• SLOP by Rebecca Jensen and Aviva Endean, following the international success of their duet SLIP
• In Shadows, created by visual artist Liang Luscombe, musician and ethnomusicologist Isobel D’Cruz Barnes and writer-producer Haneen Mahmood Martin
• Rabbit & Watson by Shane Woon
• Cut Chilli by Chenturan Aran, nominated at the 2025 NSW Literary Prizes
• Mature Skin by trans playwright Gabrielle Fallen and acclaimed queer independent theatre director Justin Nott
• 7 Dances for 7 People by award-winning choreographer Trà Mi Din
• Estuary by Wakka Wakka, Ngugi and Birrpai choreographer Ngioka Bunda-Heath, presented in conjunction with Melbourne Fringe
