Art After Dark

Inspired by Europe’s Night of Museums, Melbourne’s inaugural Art After Dark opened its doors to the city on Friday 13 May and Saturday 14 May 2022. Popular Melbourne institutes: NGV Australia & NGV International, ACMI, State Library of Victoria and Melbourne Museum joined forces to create an immersive event filled with live music, visual and performing arts, food and drink.

Performers such as BRIGGS and Human Nature graced the stage whilst popular exhibitions such as Mass 2017 by Ron Muek returned to the NGV. Other notable events included Midnight at Pink Lake by The Electric Canvas, a 360-degree immersive projection within the State Library of Victoria. Fed Square was lit up with Constellations, a mesmerising audio-visual installation projected through water particles, forming shapes and intangible structures in the air.
